The much talked about Mortgage Expo came off successfully at the Silver Star Tower, Airport City from 7th to 9th December 2018. The three-day Republic Mortgage Expo was organized by Republic Bank (Ghana) Limited in collaboration with Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA) under the theme ‘Making Home Ownership a Reality with Republic Bank, Your Mortgage Partner.
The Expo had over 60 participating vendors which included Estate Developers, suppliers of home appliances, and building materials. The Expo had an impressive turnout of home and mortgage seekers.
According to the Managing Director of Republic Bank, Anthony Jordan, The Expo by all standards was very successful and participation was good. “If you have to consider the magnitude of the Mortgage Expo, we would appreciate the time and planning that went into it. I am more than satisfied with the event and the attendants. With what I have seen and the learning experience gathered, I can assure Ghanaians that next year will be better and bigger”.

The Managing Director also thanked GREDA and all Participating Developers and Non-Developers for their partnership and participation. “We look forward to more collaboration to help bridge the housing deficit and increase the number of homeowners in Ghana”.
At the official opening ceremony, Mrs Stella Athiabiah from the Ministry of Works and Housing represented the Sector Minister and delivered the guest speech. Speeches were also delivered by some stakeholders including Mr. Ebenezer Tetteh Tagoe, a Board Member of Republic Bank and Mr. Benjamin Dzoboku, General Manager for Finance and Strategy. The Opening Ceremony was well attended by special Dignitaries and Customers of Republic Bank.
As part of the event, a series of seminars on Land and Mortgage in Ghana were organized. Presentations by renowned Real Estate experts such as Dr. Torgbor Mensah, former President of GREDA, Mrs. Evans Halm, an Architect, Mrs. Sarah Sodzi Ziddah, a Surveyor, and Timothy Anyidoho from the Lands Commission were well received. A health talk was facilitated by Dr. George Bediako Nketsiah, a Medical Practitioner. The Expo also had an emergency medical team and a Kids Corner.
The three-day Expo was telecast live on DTV1, on radio by Class Fm and streamed live on our social media handles.
